Weekly Young Magazine is a flagship Japanese seinen manga anthology magazine published by Kodansha. Launched on June 16, 1980, it targets the adult male demographic. It originally began as a bimonthly publication under the title 'Young Magazine' before transitioning to a weekly release schedule in 1989. Throughout its history, the magazine has serialized many culturally significant and internationally renowned series, most notably Katsuhiro Otomo's 'Akira' during its bimonthly era, as well as Masamune Shirow's 'Ghost in the Shell' and Shuichi Shigeno's 'Initial D'.
