Synopsis

One of the very first manga adaptations of the Pokémon franchise, this gag-comedy series follows the bizarre adventures of a young Trainer named Isamu Akai (Red) and his crude, obnoxious, but lovable partner Clefairy. Unlike the anime and later adaptations, the Pokémon in this series can speak human language, devolve at will, and engage in slapstick, toilet humor, and absurd fourth-wall-breaking antics. As Red travels through various regions to collect Gym Badges, he frequently clashes with his rival Green, relying on Clefairy's unpredictable gag-based attacks rather than traditional Pokémon battles to save the day.
